about

I found all the stems from the second Parasite album "Second Sight" and mixed them all properly for the first time ever, instead of trying to make a whole album on a Boss BR600.

Here are these songs as they were supposed to be heard, for the first time.

Everything is pretty much the same take as on the original 2009 release except for Bob's backwards chord from track 10 which I can no longer find. Apologies.

"Big Jumper Day" is included as a bonus track, originally a bside to "Deja Vu".

Original blurb:
The second 'proper' album, hence the title. After Will left the band in 2008, Adam scrapped a load of the planned second album and put this album together himself using a few of the ideas that had been played live over the past year or so, along wth a whole load of new songs.
This album features songs written between 2004 and 2008, so although Will Saunders doesn't feature on the recording of the album, his influence is felt in the songwriting and anyone familiar with the band from this time will be familiar with the songs from their live performances.
Adam recorded the album alone in the autumn of 2008 on a digital 8 track recorder, aiming for a rough "plug in and play" vibe. Accordingly it is a bit rougher than the first album, but the songs are probably better...
Bob Williams joined the band very late in the recording process and so only appears for one backwards chord on track 10.

"Deja Vu", "My Reunion" and "Machine" were the digital singles from this album. "Deja Vu" earned us our first ever print media review in Artrocker magazine (and it was positive!), the other two singles had some positive digital media reviews again, and "Machine" was the first Parasite track I heard on the radio.

The CD version features the awful original sleeve, the new digital sleeve has been updated for 2019 by JP.
The sleeve was meant to be a comment on perspectives and the concept of starting at the foundation of a thought and then building up to the detail, but it didn't really seem to come across...
